Koinos was a Gallic gladiator who escaped from the ludus of Batiatus along with Spartacus and the other gladiators an slaves. He later fought for Spartacus in the slave rebellion against the Roman Republic.
Koinos was a commander in a small gallic army that fought against a Roman legion and was later captured. Koinos managed to escape but was quickly recaptured and sold into slavery. He was purchased by Lentulus Batiatus and trained as a gladiator. Like the other gauls, he showed some resentment towards Spartacus during his early days as a gladiator, but came to respect him even before the rebellion began.
