Myrmex was a Gladiator from Greece who escaped from the ludus of Lentulus Batiatus along with Spartacus. He then chose to join Spartacus' rebellion against the Roman Republic. Following the Battle at the Silarus River, he was crucified on the orders of Marcus Licinius Crassus.
Myrmex was born in southern Greece in the town of Kotronas, and was taken into slavery when he was captured by the Cilician pirates during one of their raids there. Being taken to Italy, he was ultimately sold to lanista Gnaeus Cornelius Lentulus Batiatus, and trained as a gladiator. By the time Batiatus had purchased the Thracian Spartacus, Myrmex was one of the eldest gladiators in Batiatus' ludus.
Having been trained a gladiator for a number of years, Myrmex was an incredibly skilled fighter, especially against the Romans during Spartacus' rebellion.
Myrmex had a muscular build, with brown hair and eyes.
