Tarsus was born and raised in Rome. In 73 BC, he was conscripted into the cohorts of Praetor Gaius Claudius Glaber, and sent south towards Mount Vesuvius to trap and ultimately defeat the rebel Spartacus and his growing army.
Tarsus helped fight the rebels back, even capturing Iscros, one of the rebels
Tarsus had minor training as a legionary. While able to hold his own against the lesser trained rebels, he was outmatched by those more experienced, such as the Gladiators and Pastores'
