Peirastes was a Gladiator from Greece owned by lanista Lentulus Batiatus. In 73 BC, he aided in the escape from Batiatus' ludus, and joined Spartacus' rebellion against the Romans. He was killed in 71 BC during the Battle at the Silarus River.
Peirastes was born in 112 BC in Athens, Greece and taken into slavery as a young adult. Taken to Rome in chains, he was eventually sold to Lanista Marcus Cornelius Batiatus, and was trained as a gladiator for many years.
